Do you think NHL, Madden, MT 2K20 style games will be a matter of the past?

It is no secret that these games are old after a year. I understand some people today manage this by simply buying another, or every third year. But do you believe any company will ever step up and create a game that updates rosters and manages game play changes through updates rather than by selling a brand new $60 game? I really do see those games dying although I don't think a company will do this. Madden continues to get worse year after year imo. 2k has been so bad I don't even buy it.

NHL is the only game that either improves or stays exactly the exact same year after year. The problem with Madden and 2k is that they are making it way to realistic. Back in the day where you can do spin moves without getting tired, you could dunk on every fast break, Ray allen would strike 20 3s in matches versus buddies, in madden that you can run to the end zone with mike Vick and then run for a td because he didn't become tired. Shit like that made those games great. You can't do this. That NBA 2K20s are neglecting imo.

I think we want 1 Madden, 1 NBA, FiFa etc.. Give them updates and place any microtransactions they need provided that no non cosmetic. People would purchase because individuals would forgive EA that shot. Exactly. But you could keep on playing old rosters or game modes that are not changed by new rosters, like EACHL (my personal favorite). NBA 2K20 as a whole does not change enough for a completely different game.

I know a lot of people are as a Service on the hate train for Games...but sports games should be perfect for GaaS. It is honestly a match made in gamer heaven. Seasons are constructed in, events are constructed in. No company has attempted this yet is beyond me. I suppose full game sales must be good enough to keep that sales model going.
