For Ronnie Hays (a.k.a. Rohlfie), "Woke Again" is a first effort to document songs since 2005's "dog."

The cover art suggests a singer awoken in the body of a pack mule. Unfazed by this apparent karmic demotion, he beholds with bewilderment, a gaggle of wild children inhabiting this strange and foreboding world. To them he offers no lamentation. Instead, he offers Rip Van ramblings to pass time as they slowly satisfy their curiosity.

The "dog" tore from its leash, out of my control in fall of 2005. At the time, there was so much anger in the media... so much unbridled hatred between fellow citizens. I felt this was, in some way, incited or even encouraged by the shameless demagoguery practiced on 24hr cable-news and talk-radio networks. The dog is my response to all of that negative energy.

Toward the end of the recording, mixing and mastering process i was ready for it to be over. I haven't produced a record since... i mean, yet.

Myopedomania was meant to be a unified statement on the cycles of crisis and renewal. Unfortunately, it ended up being a hodgepodge of different moods, styles, and thematic direction. so, in the end, it was a failure, but i still kinda dig a couple of the tracks... i hope you do too.

Cheap shots, as indicated, was a 1st go at recording of some my songs. I put a lot of energy into this first one and ended up with a better result than expected. Of course, the bass is mixed way too hot and the vocals are horrendous, but hey... I can't afford to hire REAL musicians, singers, and engineers... ;P

Besides, I'm not doing this to impress industry people... or anyone else for that matter. I'm doing this because I HAVE to.
